Monthly Reset: Reflect, Refresh, Reset

There’s nothing I love more than the start of a new month. The beginning of each month serves as a natural checkpoint, a moment for reflection, and a golden opportunity to harness the untapped potential of the days ahead. In this realm of renewed possibilities, we discover a unique and invigorating force that propels us toward productivity. Start new habits, expel the ones that aren’t working, get prepared, and progress forward.

In this new Monthly Reset series, I’m going to guide you through my reset routine and help you make your own. Read on for your free customizable vision board and other resources I’ve provided for you to set yourself up for a productive month.

Last month’s goals: a reflection

Reflection is powerful. To have the ability to give yourself praise and criticism where it’s needed is a skill that took me a long time to master, but it’s one of the most useful and productive. It requires honesty and full transparency with ourselves which can be difficult for people. If you’re knew to this, I PROMISE the discomfort goes away. and if you’re a seasoned introspective, than you know this as well as I do. The UN-comfort zone is where you grow and it’s 100% necessary. Don’t let it scare you away from your full potential.

Now let’s dive into my goals from the past month. My BIG 3 were:

  1. Read 2 books cover to cover

  2. Eat “real food” - stay away from processed foods as much as possible

  3. Consistency with posting and developing on this website

How did I do with these? Well starting off strong… I only read half a book in February. Which is about 25% towards that goal, but it’s better than 0. So what went wrong here? I didn’t have an action plan. Setting goals without a plan for execution is like driving in a new country without a map. If I would’ve dedicated a certain amount of pages to be read per day, or blocked it in, I have a feeling the results might’ve been a bit better.

I did really well with number 2 (with the help of my husband). We recently restructured the way we go grocery shopping. We’re planning each meal out with the groceries we will need for each one written underneath it. Any miscellaneous items goes in it’s own box. And we stick to it 100%. No deviation whatsoever. This saves us about $50 - $70 dollars with every trip and hundreds a month. We only bought fresh ingredients and made everything homemade this month. It was a learning curve from the cooking/baking perspective, but totally worth it.

I built this website and all the associated social medias as a challenge to myself starting February 1st. How much content could I produce in one month? I surprised myself with this one. I managed to write 3 months worth of blog posts and make SO much stock content, schedule and plan it all out for the months ahead. I’m very proud of myself for the dedication I put into this and I really hope you all enjoy it.

Journal Prompts

Journaling is a highly effective habit that I would recommend to anyone. Our brains can become cluttered and chaotic very quickly and thats why I journal. Laying your thought down on a page makes them tangible, easier to understand and permanent.

Here are some reflective prompts I like to use at the start of the month to gather my thoughts and set good intentions for the month coming up.

  • How did I feel this month? Physically, Mentally, Emotionally?

  • What did I learn this month? Any big life lessons?

  • What did I accomplish?

  • What could I improve?

  • What do I want more/less of this month?

  • What am I looking forward to this month?

  • Where do I see myself at the end of this next month?

  • New affirmations for this month

Feel free to use these prompts to set yourself up for success.
